Creating an ideal therapeutic regimen is often like putting a puzzle together, with adherence being a critical piece of that puzzle. Studies, and clinical experience, show that patients are more likely to adhere to once-daily medication administration when compared to regimens that require more frequent dosing. Given that pill burden and medication cost are an increasing problem, would our patients benefit from a simple, low-cost, one-size-fits-all approach to addressing cardiovascular risk?

This is infuriating. There is a way to customize a poly-pill. It’s called compounding. You all took compounding in school. The problem is you cant design a study around ”we customized everyone’s medications and compounded them into capsules” because then it’s not uniform and our insane medical culture blows its lid if you ever try anything that doesnt have a specific study proving that taking all 5 meds in one capsule isnt radically different than taking all 5 meds in compressed tablet forms.
